报告简介:
Concern for human health and the environment is growing as the human population grows and recognition of scarcity of resources and climate change grows. Indeed, it was recently stated by the International Association of Fire Safety Science that the world is facing enormous challenges in terms of access to resources, increasing and diversifying population and extreme weather events. There is a clear and pressing need to understand fire safety in the context of sustainability. This lecture will give an overview of fire safety challenges that we face from the perspective of sustainable development. The lecture will present research concerning characterization of fires, understanding how fire safety can impact on sustainability and vice versa, and provide some information concerning the development of models to understand different aspects of sustainability, i.e. ecological impact, economic impact and social impact.
